Rev. Clifford C. Headland

The Rev. Clifford C. Headland, 79, who had been a patient at the United Methodist Nursing Home since October 1974, died at the home Monday, July 7, 1975, after a sudden illness.

Born in Butler County September 12, 1895, he was a son of Charles and Malinda Hoffman Headland.  He married Rebecca Pratt Lowe in April 1965.

The Rev. Mr. Headland last served as an associate pastor of Epworth United Methodist Church at New Castle before going to the home.  He took official retirement in 1962 while serving as pastor of Russell United Methodist  Church.  He also served  pastorates at churches in Eau Claire, Fredonia, Ridgeville, Fairview and Petrolia in Pennsylvania and at Little Valley, NY.  He was a member of Arion Masonic Lodge at Little Valley.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Marjorie Headland, the widow of Bruce Headland of New Castle; a step-daughter, Mrs. Evelyn Lee Mosher of Ellicottville, NY; a sister, Mrs. Tillie Schwiensburg of Rochester; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by three sons.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Dutilh Cemetery, near Mars, PA.
