Rev. George R. Anderson

Rev. George R. Anderson, 79, a resident of Wesbury since December 9, 1995, died there Thursday, April 9, 1998 following a period of declining health.

He was born November 19, 1918 in East Mead Township, a son of the late Glenn and Gertrude Holland Anderson.  He married Ellen Hall July 4, 1937.  She preceded him in death in March of 1995.  He subsequently married Faye Smith June 3, 1995.  She survives.

Rev. Anderson was a clergyman with the Church of the Nazarene for over 40 years having served churches in Pennsylvania, Ohio, Indiana and Iowa.

He was a member of Church of Nazarene in Meadville.

Survivors, in addition to his wife, include two step-sons, Gerald G. Oakes of Guys Mills and David E. Oakes of Kansas City, MO, several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by a son, Joseph Anderson; two brothers, Kenneth and Donald Anderson; and a sister, Erma Niemann.

Interment was in Geneva Cemetery.
