Rev. Howard G. Parsons

The Rev. Howard G. Parsons, 85, of Meadville, died at home Thursday, September 4, 1969, following an illness of several months.

He was born in Port Hope, Ont., Canada, January 23, 1884, a son of Willian H. and Elvira Grant Parsons.  He married Elizabeth A. Jente October 24, 1912.  The Rev. Mr. Parsons graduated with a BA degree from McGill University in Monstreal, Quebec, Canada, in 1907 and attained his MA degree at Yale University, New Haven, CT, in 1910.  He received two bachelor of divinity degrees, one from Yale and one from Union Theological Seminary in 1912.  The Rev. Mr. Parsons served five pastorates during his years in the ministry with Congregationalist churches in New Enlgand.  He retired from the ministry in 1942 and moved to Meadville in 1954.  He was a member of the New Haven Conference of Congregationalist Churches.

Survivors, include his widow; a son, Dr. William H. Parsons of Meadville; a granddaughter, Mrs. Jon (Miriam) Haebig of Pittsburgh and two great-grandchildren.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Greendale Cemetery.
