Rev. Malcolm R. Palmer

August 19, 1893 — December 22, 1969

The Rev. Malcolm R. Palmer, of Meadville, a Baptist minister for 49 years, died Monday, December 22, 1969, at Suncoast Hospital, Largo, FL, where he had been a patient one month.  He and his wife had been spending the winter in Florida.

The Rev. Mr. Palmer entered the ministry at the First Baptist Church, Meadville, in 1915.  He graduated from Allegheny College and Rochester, NY Theological School and was ordained.  He had served Baptist churches in New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania for a total of 49 years before his retirement in 1958.  He was a Mason.

After retirement, he served as interim pastor at Erie, Bradford, North East and other cities in the area.  He and Mrs. Palmer were host and hostess at the Baptist House at Chautauqua, NY, during the summer seasons for the past nine years.

He was married to the former Elsie Karlsking, June 20, 1918, and the couple observed their golden wedding anniversary in June 1968.

Surviving, besides his widow, are two daughters, Mrs. Carl E. (Elaine) Gillberg of North Plainfield, NJ and Mrs. David (Flodella) Stanley of Newton Falls, OH; one son, Malcolm K. and nine grandchildren.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Greendale Cemetery.
