Rev. Walter R. Foulk

Rev. Walter F. Foulk, 91, was a former Talon, Inc. employee and a retired United Methodist clergyman who served several area churches including the Grace and Stone United Methodist Churches in Meadville.

Rev. Foulk, a resident of Wesbury United Methodist Community in Meadville since December 1989, died Saturday, July 30, 1994, in Meadville Medical Center after a period of declining health.

He was born July 5, 1903, in Van Buren, IN, a son of Frederick and Maude (Harbst) Foulk.  He married Mabel Smith on September 1, 1926.  She preceded him in death March 8, 1992.

He was a graduate of Randolph Township Public Schools and Meadville Commercial College.  He was employed in the Planning Division of Talon for 16 years.

He owned and operated the Mt. Hope Store in Randolph Township for 10 years.

He received his deacon's order in 1960, and his elder's orders in the United Methodist Church in 1962.

As a United Methodist Clergyman, Rev. Foulk served churches in Geneva, Clarks Mills, Wattsburg and Miller's Station.  He held assistance pastorates at Grace and Stone United Methodist Churches in Meadville.

He was a member of the Western PA Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church and he was connected to the Charge Conference at Grace United Methodist Church of Meadville.

In his retirement, he worked in lapidary with semi-precious stones.

Survivors include a son, John R. Foulk of Meadville; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by a son, Warren; two infant daughters; two grandchildren; one brother and two sisters.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Union Cemetery, Guys Mills.
