Rhea M. Maloney

October 18, 1927 — June 13, 2003

Rhea M. Maloney, 75, of Quality Living Center, Saegertown, died Friday June 13, 2003, at the Transitional Care Unit of Meadville Medical Center.

She was born in Meadville Oct. 18, 1927, a daughter of Clarence & Mary Echnoz DeMaison.  She married Kenneth G. Maloney June 20, 1953, and he survives.

She attended Meadville Public Schools, and had first worked at Westinghouse of Meadville and then worked as a waitress in several Meadville Restaurants, including the Lamplighter Restaurant.  She was a member of St. Agatha’s Roman Catholic Church, and its Catholic Daughter’s of America.  She was a great cook, and enjoyed fishing, dancing, and playing cards.

Survivors in addition to her husband of nearly fifty years, and a patient at Crawford County Care Center, Saegertown, include 1 son, Michael K. Maloney and his wife Debra of Meadville, 2 grandchildren, Matthew and Dayna Maloney, 1 sister, Louise Brunot and her husband, Robert of Meadville, and 1 brother, Ray DeMaison and his wife Barb of Punta Gorda, FL.

She was preceded in death by her parents, 1 son Stephen L. Maloney, and 1 brother, Glenn DeMaison.

Calling hours will be Monday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. at Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, Inc., 581 Chestnut St. where a scripture-prayer service will be held at 7:30 p.m.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Bernadette’s Roman Catholic Church, Renner St., Saegertown, with Fr. Gregory P. Passauer, officiating.

Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
