Richard B. Riehm

Richard B. Riehm, 89, of Meadville, died at home Sunday, March 28, 1999 after a period of declining health.

He was born in Tiffin, OH, October 23, 1909, a son of Clarence and Lena Flectner Riehm.  He married Aletha Groff, May 18, 1947 and she survives.

Mr. Riehm retired in 1967 as manager of the J. C. Penney Co. of Meadville, after 40 years of service.  He then served for two years as executive director of the Meadville Area Chamber of Commerce.

Mr. Riehm was a 1927 graduate of Tiffin, OH High School.  An active community participant, he was a member and past president of the Meadville Kiwanis Club; worked with the United Way and Meadville Area Industrial Commission, and other community groups.  He was a member of First Presbyterian Church.  He greatly enjoyed flower gardening, reading and walking.

Survivors, in addition to his wife include one daughter, Rebecca Khalsa (Gobind) of Pulaski, NY; four sons, William Riehm (Marion) of Knoxville, TN, Jack Riehm (Susan) of Mantua, OH, Thomas Riehm (Ellen) of Rocky River, OH and Richard Riehm (Patty) of Naples, FL; fifteen grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and one sister, Marjorie Doncyson of Tiffin, OH.

He was preceded in death by a son, Robert Riehm and three sisters.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Fairmont Cemetery, Tiffin, OH.
