Richard D. Theuret

Richard D. (Dick) Theuret, 84, formerly of W. Oil Creek Rd., Meadville and a resident of Juniper Village, Meadville, died Monday, May 2, 2011 at the Cambridge Springs Rehabilitation and Nursing Center.

He was born April 10, 1927 in Meadville, a son of Russell C. and Lelia J. Prenatt Theuret.  He had been married to Joyce Walling Moore.

Dick was a Veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army Air Corps.  He was employed at the former Spauldings, Inc. for 30 years.  He subsequently worked part-time for a few years for Greendale Cemetery Association.

He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2006, Meadville, enjoyed participating in activities at Active Aging, Inc., Meadville and also enjoyed cars, hunting, flower gardening, and photography.  He was very proud of his award winning photographs at the Crawford County Fair.  He also took great pride in working with the floral arrangements at Juniper Village.

Survivors include a daughter, Elaine Theuret of Meadville; a sister, Marilyn Bizzarro and her husband Anthony of Meadville; three brothers, Gary Theuret and his wife Leslie of Meadville, Carl Theuret and his wife Joan of Lady Lake, FL, and Jack Theuret and his wife Marian of Sonoita, AZ; and nine nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two daughters, Dale Ann Moore and Linda Lee Moore.

Calling hours are today (Tuesday) from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, 581 Chestnut St., Meadville.

The funeral and committal service will be Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Robert Fuller, Pastor of Littles Corners United Methodist Church, officiating and military honors provided by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2006, Meadville.

Interment will be in Kiser Hill Cemetery.
