Richard "Dick" L. Foster

Richard “Dick” L. Foster, 81, of Carlton peacefully passed away on Monday, January 6, 2020, at Sugar Creek Station surrounded by his loving family. Dick was born on September 22, 1938 in New Lebanon to the late Lawrence S. and Edythe M. McFetridge Foster. He was a 1957 graduate of Lakeview High School, where he was a member of the National Honor Society. Dick was a life time sheep famer, and enjoyed spending time on his farm. He served as President for the National Pulled Dorset Association, as well as being the Vice President for the State FFA in 1956 and the Secretary for National FFA in 1957. In addition to sheep farming he worked for PPG in Meadville, as well as ran the pig farm at Polk Center for many years. In his free time, he enjoyed hunting, watching Lakeview High School Basketball and taking road trips. He was an avid Pittsburgh Pirates and Penn State Football fan. He was a member of the Sandy Lake Presbyterian Church. On August 22, 1964 he married his beloved wife, Sandra Graham Foster, who survives at home. Surviving are his children: Craig Foster, and his wife, Lisa, of Union Grove, AL, Jacqueline A. Foster, of Harrisburg, PA, Stan Foster, and his wife, Beth, of New Lebanon and Bradley Foster, of Grant, AL; his grandchildren: Kahle and wife Kiya, Connor and wife Hayley, Cameron, Lindsey, Hailee and Nick; his great-grandchildren: Myla, Tucker and Bryar; a brother, Robert S. Foster, and his wife, Karen, of New Lebanon; a sister, Charlotte Shannon, and her husband, Donald, of Greenville; a brother-in-law, Jeffrey Graham and his wife, Kris, of Waterloo, IA; a sister-in-law, Penny Graham, of Topeka, KS; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents Dick was preceded in death by an infant son, Richard Lee Foster. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Black Funeral Home, 99 Franklin Street, Stoneboro, PA where family and friends are welcome on Thursday, January 9, 2020 from 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM and 6:00 – 8:00 PM. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Friday, January 10, 2020 at 11:00 AM. Interment will be held at Oak Hill Cemetery. Memorials may be made in Dick’s name to the Mercer County 4-H Park Fund, 463 N. Perry Hwy, Mercer, PA 16137. Online condolences may be sent to the family by visiting www.BlackFuneralHomes.net
