Richard “Dick” M. Jones, 93 of Jackson Center, passed away on March 24, 2018 at 12:55 AM at the Trinity Living Center in Grove City. Dick was born on April 6, 1924 in Jackson Township to the late Clarence Caleb and Hattie Miller Jones. He attended the Paoli School in Jackson Township. Dick went on to serve our Country in the United States 8th Army Air Corp during World War II and was stationed in England. Dick worked over the years at Walker Manufacturing of Mercer, Reznor of Mercer, Bobo Coal Company, Keystone Motors of Jackson Center, Turner Contracting Company, and eventually retiring from Foster Grading Company in 1990. Dick was protestant by faith. He was a member of the Teamsters Local Union of New Castle and a life member of Jackson Field and Stream Club. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, he also loved working in his yard and woodworking. Dick is survived by his son, Terry L. Jones and his wife Carolyn of Jackson Center, four grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren In addition to his parents, Dick was preceded in death by his son, John R. Jones and his older brother, Clarence C. Jones Jr. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude for the Staff at Trinity Living Center and Three Rivers Hospice for their kindness and support during this time. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Black Funeral Homes, Stoneboro & Sandy Lake. As per Dick’s wishes, there will be no public visitation.
