Richard E. Sterling, 64, of 19640 Forest Green Dr., Meadville, died Monday, September 29, 2003 at Meadville Medical Center.
He was born in Meadville February 12, 1939, a son of the late Francis and Dorothy Harris Sterling. He married Lois J. Burns July 21, 1975 and she preceded him in death November 27, 1997.
He was a graduate of Cambridge Springs High School. He worked as a truck driver and router at the former Spaulding’s Company for 25 years. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He attended First Baptist Church, Meadville.
Survivors include a son, Richard C. Sterling of Meadville; a half-sister, Brenda Long and her husband, Walter of Meadville; 2 half-brothers, Robert Crosley and his wife Debbie of Meadville and Ray Crosley and his wife Helen of Guys Mills; a half-sister-in-law, Patricia McBlaine of Meadville; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by a half-brother, Russell Looney.
Calling hours will be Thursday from 10 a.m. to noon at First Baptist Church, 353 Chestnut St., Meadville. The funeral service will follow at noon with the Rev. Gregory Streed officiating.
Burial will be in Miller’s Station Cemetery, Rockdale Township.
