Richard Edward Adsit, Sr.

Richard Edward Adsit, Sr., 69, of Meadville, passed away Tuesday, June 7, 2022 following a sudden illness.

He was born May 29, 1953 in Meadville, a son of Alfred C. and Dorothy M. Gibson Adsit.  He married Michele Corliss January 15, 1993.

Richard was a 1971 graduate of Meadville High School.  He worked as a deputy sheriff for Crawford County and in campus security at Allegheny College.

Richard was a life-member of the NRA and SASS.  He was also a member of the Titusville Sportsman’s Club.  He enjoyed shooting, hunting, and was an avid John Wayne fan.

Richard was affiliated with Trinity Lutheran Church.

Survivors, in addition to his wife, Michele, include five children, Thom Ann Kiser (Ron) of Greenville, Rhonda Adsit of Erie, Richard Adsit, Jr. of Montana, Alfred Adsit, Jr. (Sekoya Francis) of Meadville; and John Adsit of Meadville; five grandchildren, Matthew, Shawna, Cameron, Chastin, and Kaleb; three great-grandchildren; and his beloved dog, Harley.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a grandson, Chandler Richard Adsit.

A private family graveside service will be at Greendale Cemetery.
