Richard L. Lewis

Richard L. (Rick) Lewis, 18, of Meadville, was killed instantly shortly before noon Wednesday when he was struck by a piece of steel while working at Greenville Steel Car Co. He was born in Randolph Township, February 1, 1959, son of Lester G. and Dorothy Boyle Lewis. He was graduated from Maplewood High School in June of last year and also graduated from the welding program of the Crawford County Vocational School. At Maplewood, he played center of the school football team. He had been employed as an apprentice welder at Greenville Steel Car for the past four months. Survivors include his parents; a paternal grandmother, Mrs. Nora Lewis of Emlenton; six sisters, Mrs. Janice Lazorishak of Meadville, Mrs. Sarah Rollick of St. Mary's, Mrs. Nancy Shaw of Cooperstown, Miss Nora Lewis of Titusville, Miss Beth Lewis, stationed at Beale Air Force Base in California and Miss Bonnie Lewis, at home; two brothers, David of Meadville and Robert of Mercer. He was preceded in death by a brother, James, who was killed when struck by a piece of heavy equipment on his job at Camp Lejeune, NC, in November 1965. Services were held at Waid Funeral Home. Interment was in Union Cemetery, Guys Mills. Services Past Services
