Richard P. Darling

Richard P. Darling, 62, of 1073 Liberty Street, Meadville, died at home Tuesday, July 3, 2007.

He was born in Meadville October 5, 1944 a son of Perry W. and Mildred Davenport Darling.  He married Katheryn M. Scannell December 12, 1980 and she preceded him in death February 3, 1989.

He was a truck driver most of his life, driving for Hubbard Bus Service, the Crawford Area Transportation Authority and as an over the road driver.

He was a graduate of Meadville High School and was a veteran of the Vietnam War serving with the Marine Corps.  He was a practical joker always enjoying keeping everyone laughing.  He also enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping.

Survivors, include his wife Beatrice of Meadville; five sons, Jeffrey Darling and his wife Donna of Louisville, GA, Todd Darling of Meadville, Brain Darling and his wife Stacey of Saegertown, Ellis Munson of Meadville and Daniel Munson of Meadville; a daughter, Stacy Sackett and her husband David of Pierpont, OH and seventeen grandchildren, Joshua, Nathan, Rebecca, Cody, Kyle, Zachary, Brandon, Briceson, Tyler Marie, Misty, Richie, Tanner, Jimmy, Jeremy, Christopher, Tyquail and Shawn.

In addition to his parents and wife Katheryn, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Tracey Darling.

Calling hours will be Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, Inc., 581 Chestnut Street, Meadville.

The funeral service will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at the funeral home.
