Richard R. (Rick) Pietropaoli

Richard R. (Rick) Pietropaoli, 64, of Meadville, passed away peacefully following an extended illness Friday, April 21, 2017 in Pittsburgh.

He was born March 21, 1953 in Greensburg a son of Vincent L. and Maxine R. Storey Pietropaoli.  He married Lynda J. Pantalone October 28, 1972 and she survives.

He was a 1971 graduate of Hempfield High School and first worked at the glass plant in Jeannette, PA.  In 1971 he moved to Meadville and started working at Lord Corp. in Saegertown.  He worked there for 44 years retiring in May of 2016 as a senior chemical reactor operator and safety marshal.

He was a member of the Catholic Community of Meadville.  He was the unofficial president of his coffee group meeting at Tim Horton’s with his friends.  He enjoyed going to plays and programs and traveling with his wife.  He also enjoyed bowling, hunting and was an avid Pittsburgh Steeler fan.  He was a very loving husband, father and son.

Survivors, in addition to his wife Lynda, of 44 years, include: a son Jayson Pietropaoli and his wife Anne (Cocolin) of Meadville; a daughter Jennele Yoho and her fiancé Joe Jansen of Pittsburgh; his mother, Maxine Pietropaoli of Meadville; two brothers-in-law, Frank Pantalone and his wife Debbie of Greensburg and Eric Pantalone and his wife Etsuko of Boston, MA and several nieces, nephews, cousins, a great niece and a great nephew.

He was preceded in death by his father, Vincent L. Pietropaoli.

Calling hours will be Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, Inc., 581 Chestnut Street, Meadville with a Scripture Prayer Service at 6:45 p.m.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at St. Mary of Grace Church, 1085 Water Street, Meadville with Fr. Thomas Trocchio, Parochial Vicar of the Catholic Community of Meadville, Celebrant.

Interment will be in Kiser Hill Cemetery.
