Richard W. Weaver, 77, of 710 Ravine St., Meadville, died Monday, February 7, 2005 at Meadville Medical Center.
He was born in Franklin June 11, 1927, a son of the late Joseph and Loretta Caldwell Weaver. He married Ruth Lou Boyd March 23, 1951.
He attended Rocky Grove High School and received his high school diploma in 1945. He was both a U.S. Army and Air Force Veteran of World War II. He worked as a machinist at Avtex of Meadville, retiring in 1985. He subsequently worked for Hazlett Tree Service and Advantage Auto, both of Meadville. He enjoyed hunting, motorcycles, and especially his grandchildren.
He was of the Protestant faith.
Survivors, in addition to his wife of 53 years, include a daughter, Sharon Fuller of Cambridge Springs; a son, Richard E. (Rick) Weaver and his wife Melissa Mattern Weaver of Meadville; 3 grandchildren, Timothy and Matthew Fuller and Emily Weaver; and nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Dorothy Jolley and Sarah Sally Knoch.
Calling hour will be Thursday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, 581 Chestnut St., Meadville. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. David Fugate, Associate Pastor of First Presbyterian Church, Meadville, officiating.
Interment will be in Franklin Cemetery with military honors provided by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2006, Meadville.
