Richard Walt Cooper, 90 of 5 Tall Timbers Drive, Princeton, NJ died at home Thursday March 23, 2006.
He was born in Cleveland, OH November 5, 1915 a son of Fred Lee and Louise Frances (Kroeckel) Cooper. He married Sarah Hill Harris and she preceded him in death in 1967.
He retired as President of Sykes Advertising of Pittsburgh. He lived in Pittsburgh most of his adult life. Upon retirement he moved to Conneaut, OH in the early 1980’s. He attended Allegheny College for one year and graduated from the University of Pittsburgh in 1936. He was a veteran of World War II with the US Army Air Force receiving the Distinguished Flying Cross and achieving the rank of 1st Lieutenant.
Survivors, include: a son, John F. Cooper and his wife Mary of Princeton, NJ; a grandson, Ryan Cooper of Charlottesville, VA and cousins, Dorothy Sliter of Guys Mills and Gary Sliter and his wife Joyce of Guys Mills.
Graveside services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. in Union Cemetery. Military Honors will be provided by Huidekoper VFW Post 2006.
