R. Wallace Nichols, 70, of Meadville, passed away suddenly November 19, 2023.
He was born June 16, 1953 in Geneva, a son of Richard W. and Gladys F. Hager Nichols. He had been married to Wannetta Kessler Swasta and subsequently married Sherry Consla November 5, 1987.
Wally was a 1972 graduate of Meadville High School. He worked as a flooring installer for Chilson’s for over 20 years and later for Foulk’s and Meadville Flooring. He also worked on the family farm. Wally was a member and past officer of American Legion Post 111. He loved hunting, reading, and watching westerns.
Survivors, in addition to his wife Sherry, include two children, Julia Nichols (Scott) and Phillip Nichols (Ann Furry Nichols), all of Meadville; a step-daughter, Leslie Forinash (Rick) of Springboro; his father, Richard Nichols of Meadville; a sister, Robin Kline (Edward, Jr.) of Meadville; ten grandchildren, Nathan, BoDavid, Angel, Jason, Hope, Zack, Tatianna, Joe, Tyler, and Branden; a great-grandson, Micah; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother; a brother, John Nichols; and a nephew, Lt. Eric Kline. Calling hours will be Wednesday, November 22 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at WAID-COLEMAN FUNERAL HOME, 12422 CONNEAUT LAKE RD., CONNEAUT LAKE where the funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Sam Heagy officiating.
Interment will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
