Rita M. “Tootie” Popp, 62 of Millcreek Twp, Sandy Lake, passed away the morning of August 31, 2018, at her home surrounded by her family. Tootie was born in Pittsburgh on May 27, 1956, to the late Robert McClelland Diehl and Laura Fern “Sue” Bennett. Tootie was a prep cook for many years at the Sandy Lake Diner and also worked for Brass Lantern of Transfer. She was of the Protestant Faith. Tootie loved her arts and crafts and making yard ornaments. She enjoyed cooking, canning, shopping, and summer picnics. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and loved her family very much. She married her beloved husband, Donald W. Popp, on June 10, 1972, he preceded her in death on March 7, 2016. Tootie is survived by her daughters, Lisa Popp of Sandy Lake and Bobbie Saylor and husband Kirk of Hadley, sons Donald W. Popp, Jr, and Steven Popp, both of Sandy Lake, grandchildren Johnathan Knierman and Bailey Popp, great-grandchild Lilly Popp, all of Sandy Lake, sister Linda Reis and husband George of Gibsonia, PA, brother John Sergeif of Sandy Lake, as well as many nieces, nephews, and dear friends. She was preceeded in death by her parents and husband. Funeral Arrangements have been entrusted to Black Funeral Homes, Stoneboro & Sandy Lake. Services will be private as per Tootie’s wishes.
