Robert A. Brace

Robert A. Brace, 60, of Meadville, former secretary and business manager of Crawford Central School Board, died Tuesday, November 4, 1980, at Spencer Hospital.

He was born in Beaver Township, Osceola County, WI, July 10, 1920, a son of Cleo W. and Alice Krinkie Brace.  He married Margaret Gillespie on September 9, 1945.

Brace last worked as business manager for Crawford Central School District, a post he resigned in August of 1979.  Prior to his employment by the board, he had served 22 years with First National Bank and was named manager of the Meadville office in 1970.

He was a member of Meadville First Presbyterian Church and was an elder and former  trustee of the church.  He was a former member of Meadville Lions Club and had served in the US Army Signal Corps during World War II.

He is survived by his wife; two sons, Kent of Meadville and Kerry of Farmington, CT; a daughter, Ms. Kathy Brace of York; three brothers, Dr. Neal Brace of Wheaton, IL, Dr. Ray Brace of Minneapolis and Leo Brace of Dresser, WI; two sisters, Lily Setter of Dresser and Mrs. Fern Brunner of Amery, WI; and four grandchildren.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Greendale Cemetery.
