Robert B. Dain

Robert B. Dain, 71, of Meadville, died Tuesday, December 30, 1986, at Meadville Medical Center following a brief illness.

Mr. Dain was born in Meadville, August 3, 1915, a son of Burton W. and Elma Maloney Dain.  He married Winifred Pattinson on March 5, 1941.  She survives.

He briefly was employed by the former Crawford County Trust Co. before joining his father in 1940 in operating the former Dain's Meat Market until the store closed in 1965.  He then was employed by Pennbank.  He subsequently joined the First National Bank of Pennsylvania and retired from that bank.  He was a member of First Presbyterian Church.  He was a 1936 graduate of Allegheny College and was a World War II veteran, having served in the US Navy.

Survivors, in addition to his wife, include two daughters, Carol Dain Simoneau of Stowe, VT and Janet Dain-Faris of Mohegan Lake, NY; a sister, Aileen Prodan of Meadville; two brothers, Paul Dain of Meadville and Richard Dain of Stow, OH; and two grandchildren.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Greendale Cemetery.
