Robert Arden “Bob” Poole, Sr., 84 of Lake Twp, Stoneboro, passed away on August 4, 2022 at his home. Bob was born in Lake Twp on May 20, 1938 to the late Veryl C. and Bessie Marie (Harrison) Poole. He was a graduate of Lakeview High School and proudly served his Country in the United States National Guard. Bob continued farming his family farm on Poole Road and also was the owner and operator of Poole Bussing for a number of years.
Bob loved his work as a farmer and enjoyed tending to and showing his cattle. He enjoyed antique cars and belonged to several antique car clubs and was a life member of the Chevy Club. He also served on the fair board for the Great Stoneboro Fair for 10 years.
Bob married his beloved wife, Judy (Proud) Poole on August 23, 1958, she survives at home. The couple would soon have celebrated 64 years of marriage.
In addition to his wife, Bob is survived by his son; Robert (Darice) Poole Jr. of Mercer, daughters; Shelbee (Shawn) Hostetler of Stoneboro, Sharon (Frank) Defino of Bridgeport, WV, and Sherry Poole of Stoneboro, grandchildren; Tim (Paige) Adams, Delaney and Bradley Poole, Payton and Chase Hostetler, and Frank and Maria Defino, and great-grandchildren; Olivia and Briar Adams.
In addition to his parents Bob was preceded in death by an infant son; Brett Poole.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Rose and Black Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc. 99 Franklin Street, Stoneboro, where family and friends are welcome from 4 pm – 7 pm on Sunday, August 7. A funeral service will take place on Monday, August 8, at 11 am at the funeral home with the Rev. Randy Ritchey, Barry Markle, and Chris Campbell, officiating.
Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.
