Robert C. Daniels

Robert C. Daniels, 88, of Meadville, formerly of Hudson Ohio, died Wednesday, August 29, 2018 at Wesbury United Methodist Community.

He was born in Jamestown, NY February 6, 1930, the son of Ellen and Oscar Daniels.  He married Marjorie Anderson on July 9, 1955.  She survives.

Bob, a 1948 graduate of Jamestown High School, graduated from Montgomery College, Silver Springs MD.  He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict serving in the U.S. Army in the German Alps training German Shepherds for military service.  Beginning his career with his father in Daniels Millwork and Lumber, Bob worked his entire life in the building industry.  In retirement he served as Executive Director of the Akron Chapter of Habitat for Humanity.  Bob found great joy seeing families get a new start and was recognized for his contribution to the Akron community with The Golden Apple Award for community service.

Bob enjoyed photography, traveling with his wife, home improvement projects and spending time with family, especially his grandchildren.  He was a kind and gentle man whose Christian faith was reflected in the way he lived.

In addition to his wife of 63 years, Bob is survived by two sons, Neil Daniels of Jamestown, NY and Matthew Daniels (Debbie) of Palmer, IL; one daughter, Sarah Roncolato (David) of Meadville; four grandchildren, Dr. Carolyn Roncolato (Dr. Michael Allgeier) of Chicago IL, Dr. Leanne Roncolato (Dr.Alex Roomets) of Lancaster, PA, Daniel Roncolato (Kylie) of South Vienna, OH and Jonathan Roncolato of Nashville, TN; four great grandsons Brody, Buckley and Briggs of South Vienna, OH and Benjamin of Chicago, IL.  He was preceded in death by his parents and four sisters.

The family would like to thank the care givers at Wesbury and Meadville Medical Center for their compassionate competent care.

A celebration of Bob’s life will be Saturday, September 8th at 11am at Stone United Methodist Church, 956 S. Main Street, Meadville with Rev. Sam Marchetta, officiating.

Interment will be in Lakeview Cemetery, Lakewood NY.
