Robert C. Wensel

Robert C. Wensel, 69, of Meadville, a maintenance worker and mechanic, died Tuesday, October 13, 1992, at Meadville Medical Center following an extended illness.

He was born in Clarksburg, WV, March 24, 1923, a son of Irad S. and Florence C. Weeter Wensel.  He married Shirley Ann Boehm May 29, 1948.  She survives.

He had been a maintenance worker at First Baptist Church of Meadville for the past 12 years.  He previously was a mechanic at the former Avtex Fibers, Inc. until he retired after 33 years of service.  He also owned and operated Bob's Cleaning Service for 44 years.  He was a member of First Baptist Church of Meadville and was a former trustee of the church.  He was a WWII veteran, having served in the US Army.

Survivors, in addition to his wife, include two daughters, Mrs. Darwin (Susan Eliane) Hamilton of Meadville and Mrs. Doug (Cheryl Lynn) Krider of Conneaut Lake; one sister, Mrs. James (Ann) McCracken of Meadville and two brothers, Irad J. Wensel of Conneautville and William Wensel of Erie; four grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
