Robert E. Straw

Robert E. Straw, 73, of Meadville, a former Talon employee, died suddenly at home Monday, March 29, 1993.

He was born May 24, 1919, in Meadville, a son of Robert C. and Minnie Yochum Straw.  He married Mary Jayne Grounds, April 24, 1945.  She survives.

He retired in 1982 from Talon Inc.'s Merchandising Department in Meadville after 28 years with the company.  During retirement, he worked for Jack's Pharmacy in Meadville.

He was a veteran of the US Army, serving during World War II in the Pacific Theater.  He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and Elks Lodge 219, both in Meadville.

Survivors, in addition to his wife, include two daughters, Mrs. Larry (Patricia) Palmiero and Mrs. Merle (Deborah) Jones, both of Meadville; two sons, Robert F. of Meadville and Douglas R. of Greenville; a sister, Mrs. F. D. (Dorothea) Weber of Meadville; and ten grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a grandson, Keith Allen Palmiero.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Greendale Cemetery.
