Robert Earl "Bob" Weaver

Robert Earl “Bob” Weaver Sr., 81 of Stoneboro, passed away at 5:15 pm on Sunday, January 14, 2018 at Grove City Medical Center with his family by his side. Born on Easter Sunday, April 12, 1936 in Jackson Township, he was the son of the late Floyd Harold and Ruth Aldean Vogus Weaver. Bob was raised as a worker and started working after the eighth grade. He then went on to work at Mercer Forge, C.A. Fisher Mining Company, where he was a mine foreman and mine electrician, and then worked at Joy Manufacturing, retiring in 2001. Bob married his wife, Frances B. Fisher Weaver on July 1, 1956 at Mount Hope Methodist Church. She preceded him in death on January 2, 2016 after being together just shy of 60 years. Bob loved antique cars and tractors as well as restoring them. He was a past member of AACA Antique Car Club, Keystone Model A Club, Mercer County Antique Power Assoc., and Pioneer Steam and Gas Engine Society- Lawrence County. He also loved to travel to car shows with his wife. He had a very deep faith and was involved in his church. He studied his Bible regularly and had taught Sunday School for a period of time. He volunteered many hours in church building projects. Bob attended The Oak Grove Church. Bob is survived by his two children, Robert E. “Bob” Weaver Jr. and wife Patricia, Pounding Mill, VA and Janet Patterson and husband John, Weirton, WV. Six grandchildren, Kimberlee Brown and husband Christian, Natalie, Carolyn, and Eric Weaver, Christian Patterson and wife Kayla and Evan Patterson, one great granddaughter Elsa Brown, brothers Samuel, Dale and wife Rose Mary, and Gary and wife Bethel Weaver, sisters Gladys Haag and husband Nathan, Carol Liska and husband John, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife and parents, Bob was preceded in death his by brother Ralph, sisters Betty Thompson, Norma Snyder, Mildred Adams, and infant sisters Clara Jane and Nancy Mae. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Black Funeral Home, 99 Franklin Street, Stoneboro, where family and friends are welcome on Wednesday, January 17, from 4 pm until the time of the service at 7 pm at the funeral home with the Reverend Randy Ritchey, pastor, Oak Grove Church, Officiating. Interment will be in Crestview Memorial Park, Grove City Memorials may be made in Bob’s name to the Oak Grove Church, 16 Oak Grove Road, Mercer PA, 16137
