Robert Edward Polk

Robert Edward Polk, 19, of 111 Asbury Manor, East, Meadville, died Friday, March 8, 2002, near Harrisburg, of injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

He was born in Tampa, Fla., Jan. 2, 1983, a son of Alberta Eccles & Robert M. Polk.  He was engaged to marry Kimberly Sue Peterson who also died in the accident.

He was a 2001 graduate of Saegertown High School, where he had participated in wrestling, football, and track.  He had played on a Special Olympics softball team.  He also enjoyed camping, go-cart racing, flying remote control airplanes, building models, and playing flight simulator games.

He had attended Calvary Baptist Church, Meadville.

Survivors include a daughter, Faith Jasmine Eccles of St. Petersburg, FL; his mother, Alberta Hoover, Meadville; his father and step-mother, Robert & Jean Polk, West Olive, Mich.; maternal grandparents, Gordon & Lois Eccles, Lancaster; paternal grandmother, Shirley A. Rawlings, Meadville; 4 brothers, Christopher and Billy A. Polk, both of Meadville and Creed H. Polk and Michael Polk and his wife Tracy, all of Conneaut Lake; 2 step-brothers, Scott T. and Matthew J. Davis, both of Borculo, MI; and aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Calling hours will be Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, Inc. 581 Chestnut St., Meadville.

The funeral service will be Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Ellen Rezek, chaplain of Wesbury United Methodist Community, officiating.

Burial will be in Denny Cemetery, Hayfield Twp.
