Robert F. Bright

Robert F. Bright, 73, of Meadville, died at home Friday, December 6, 1996, following a period of declining health.

He was born in Oakmont, PA, May 18, 1923, a son of William J. and WillaBelle Bright.

Mr. Bright had worked as the greenskeeper at Hailwood Golf Course for 40 years.  He also worked at Channellock for 15 years retiring in 1988 as a foreman.  He was a member of the Meadville Elks Lodge #219 and West Mead #2.  He was a former Elks Citizen of the Year.  He was a former member of Taylor Hose, Eagles Aerie #429, Meadville Country Club, and the Meadville Club.  Mr. Bright was an avid reader, golfer, and was very outgoing and loved helping people.  He was a veteran of World War II serving in the US Navy.

He attended Grace United Methodist Church.

Survivors include one sister, Lucille Sample of Meadville; a brother, George Bright of Coraopolis, PA and several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by seven sisters and a brother.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
