Robert F. Jenkins

Robert Frank Jenkins, 93, a former resident of Meadville, died Wednesday, March 25, 1998 at Point Loma Convalescent Home, San Diego, CA, following a brief illness.

He was born in Randolph Township, April 11, 1904, a son of the late George W. and Katherine McKay Jenkins.

Mr. Jenkins retired in 1966 as Assistant Chief Chemist at Standard Oil Co. of Ohio Refinery #1 in Cleveland after 22 years service.  During his years at Standard Oil, his research earned him several patents related to the refinery process.  He had also worked at one time for the American Viscose Co. in Meadville.

He was a 1932 graduate of Meadville High School and a 1928 graduate of Allegheny College with a BS in Chemistry.  He was a 76 year member of Grace United Methodist Church, a life member of Eagles Aerie 429, Elks Lodge of Euclid, OH and had a life long interest in golf.

Survivors include several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by three sisters, Ethel Mosier, Ruth Ware and Mildred Jenkins and a brother, David Theodore "Ted" Jenkins.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Black Ash Cemetery.
