Robert Franklin Droz, 78, of Meadville since 1957, a native of Pittsburgh, died Tuesday, August 23, 1994, at his home following a period of declining health.
He was born in Bellvue, April 6, 1916, a son of John Edward and Mary Emma Patton Droz. He married Bernice A. Wilhelm, who survives.
He was employed during World War II by Armstrong Cork Co., Pittsburgh, in the machine maintenance department of the shell shop. He then was employed as a service manager for North Side Buick of Pittsburgh.
He moved to Meadville in 1957 and was owner/operator of Bob's Auto Repair Center and was the licensee for Hertz Rental, both in Kerrtown, until retiring in 1982.
He was a member of the Christian Science Society of Meadville, and the Mother Church, First Church of Christ Science, Boston. He served as first reader for six years at the local society.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include a daughter, Darlene Swan of Meadville; three grandsons; and a niece.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Harold Droz and two sisters, Margaret Droz and Evelyn Mallasee.
Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.
