Robert H. Engelbert, Jr., 48, of Meadville, died Thursday, June 26, 1997 at Meadville Medical Center following a sudden illness.
He was born January 6, 1949 in Pittsburgh, a son of Robert H. and Donna Jane (Lynn) Engelbert, Sr. He married Linda Prewett, November 20, 1971. She survives.
Mr. Engelbert was a 1966 graduate of Norwin High School and received a BS in industrial Arts from California State University of Pennsylvania in 1971. He received a Masters Degree in guidance counceling from Edinboro University in 1975 and a secondary administration certificate from Westminster College in 1979.
He worked as an industrial art teacher at Townville/Maplewood High School from 1971 to 1980. He was the principle of Saegertown High School from 1980 to 1985. He was the principle of Cambridge Springs High School from 1985 to present. He was a former assistant boys basketball coach and former head coach of girls softball team, both at Maplewood High School. He also coached little league baseball. He was very active in the district 10 PA Interscholastic Athletic Assoc. He owned and enjoyed antique cars.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include his parents of Punts Gorda, FL; one son, Christian Engelbert, at home; one daughter, Brianne Engelbert at home; one sister, Carol Bozman of Port Charlotte, FL; and two brothers, Richard Engelbert of Youngsville and Daniel Engelbert of Port Charlotte, FL.
Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.
Interment was in Greendale Cemetery.
