Robert H. Grossman

Robert H. Grossman, 88, of Meadville, passed away Thursday, May 18, 2017 at Wesbury United Methodist Community following a period of declining health.

He was born October 7, 1928 in Slippery Rock, a son of Roy and Florence Brison Grossman.  He married Rosemarie A. Piccirillo January 10, 1952 and she preceded him in death January 10, 2012.

Robert was a Veteran of the U.S. Army, serving from 1946 to 1948.  He retired from the railroad where he worked as a Carman for Conrail.  A member of St. Agatha Roman Catholic Church, he enjoyed playing cards and going to the casino and was an avid hunter.

Survivors include a son, Daniel J. Grossman and his wife Theresa of Meadville; two sisters, Isabel Watson and Marge Ditmer; a brother, Royal (Jack) Grossman of Meadville; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a son, Robert J. Grossman; a daughter, Marlene Grossman Reedy; a brother, William Grossman; and four sisters, Dorothy McConnel, Evelyn Grossman, Virginia Ross, and Mabel Hogue.

Calling hours will be Monday, May 22nd from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the ROBERT W. WAID FUNERAL HOME, 581 CHESTNUT ST., MEADVILLE where the funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m. with Fr. Thomas Trocchio, Parochial Vicar of the Catholic Community of Meadville, officiating.

Interment will be in St. Brigid Cemetery.
