Robert J. (Bob) Grossman, 63, of Conneaut Lake, passed away Monday, January 30, 2017 at his residence with his loving wife Brenda by his side.
He was born August 26, 1953 in Meadville, a son of Robert H. and Rosemarie A. Piccirillo Grossman. He married Brenda J. Oster May 4, 1996 and she survives.
Bob was a 1971 graduate of Meadville High School and received a certificate degree from the Mendenhall School of Auctioneering in High Point, NC. A Pennsylvania licensed auctioneer, Bob was the owner and operator of B. Gee Sales. He also provided auctioneer service for fundraising events for fire halls and other groups.
Bob was a member of Our Lady Queen of the Americas Roman Catholic Church. He was a life-member of Conneaut Lake VFD Station 3 and fire police captain for the past 15 years. He was a member of Conneaut Lake Park VFD Station 5 and was formerly active with the former Erie Crawford County State Police as a corporal. Bob was a member of the Crawford County Road Riders, enjoyed cars and motorcycles, particularly muscle cars, and riding motorcycles. He was a former active hunter and avid lover of Labrador Retrievers and spending time with his beloved black lab, Sable.
Survivors, in addition to his loving wife Brenda of 20 years, include his father, Robert H. Grossman of Meadville; a brother, Daniel J. Grossman and his wife Theresa of Meadville; his mother-in-law, Shirley Oster and her companion Don Smock of Meadville; a sister-in-law, Debbie McGowan and her husband Lloyd of Clarks Mills; a brother-in-law, Fritz Oster of Meadville; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
In addition to his mother, Bob was preceded in death by a sister, Marlene A. Grossman-Reedy.
Calling hours will be Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. and Thursday from 10 to 11 a.m. at WAID-COLEMAN FUNERAL HOME, 12422 CONNEAUT LAKE RD., CONNEAUT LAKE.
The funeral and committal service will be Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Fr. Jeffrey Lucas of Our Lady Queen of the Americas Church officiating.
Interment will be in Our Lady Queen of the Americas Cemetery.
