Robert J. Shorts

Robert J. Shorts, 81, formerly of Richmond Township, died Tuesday afternoon at the home of his son, Bert Shorts, of Hornell, NY, after a long period of failing health.

Mr. Shorts was a native of Richmond Township, where he operated a farm until about five years ago, when he moved to Hornell.  His wife died about seven years ago.

He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. R. L. Owens of Meadville and Mrs. LaRue Hanks of Guys Mills; two sons, Roy Shorts of Guys Mills and Bert Shorts of Hornell; one brother, James Shorts of Washington, DC; fourteen grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Blooming Valley Cemetery.
