Robert L. Burnette

Mr. Robert (Bob) L. Burnette, 76, of Sandy Lake, passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, February 28th, 2023 with his family by his side.


He was born on September 20th, 1946 to Cecil and Vivian (Smith) Burnette. Survivors include his daughter, Michelle (Burnette) Kepple and her husband John of Cochranton; his son, Brian Burnette and his wife Beth (Stryker) of Carlton; four grandchildren, Justin Kepple and his fiancée, Michelle Loughry of Deer Creek Twp; Nicole (Kepple) Gorman and her husband Nathan of Meadville, Brionna and Brayden Burnette of Carlton; and two great -grandchildren, Autumn Gorman and Justin T. Kepple Jr. Other family survivors include his brother, David Burnette and his wife Veronica of Canfield OH. His Sister in law June Kimes of Mercer, PA. His nieces and nephew, Airman 1st Class, Elizabeth Burnette of Dover AFB, Joy Baider-Burnette and her husband Sunil of Denver, CO, and Ben Burnette of Emporia, VA. His adopted son, Thomas Tainton and his wife, Hollie of Sandy Lake, PA.; the Garrison family of Curtis, Beth, Aubrey, and Rylan of Meadville, PA. Preceded in death by his wonderful wife of 57 years, Catherine G. (Kimes) Burnette of whom he married on May 1st 1965, his parents, and an infant child.


Bob was a very kind and giving man, who showed great strength and character. He was drafted and served in the United States Army. After the Army, Bob took a job at PPG where he worked in the Maintenance Department retiring in 2012 after 43 years of service. Bob enjoyed racing, fishing, hunting and working in his yard. He gave countless hours to help those who needed it. Later in life he enjoyed working in his garage and spending time with his buddy, Gary Lucas. Most of all Bob enjoyed spending his time with his family. The countless vacations and sporting events that he spent impacted not only his family but others involved. Bob and Cathy’s legacy will continue to grow through his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Rose And Black Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc. Stoneboro & Sandy Lake.

A Celebration of Life Service will be announced at a later date.
