Robert L. Smock, 63, of Meadville, died at home Thursday, July 30, 1987, of natural causes after a sudden illness.
He was born at Geneva, December 12, 1924, a son of Frank and Della Mangus Smock. He married Wanda E. Bigusiak, November 16, 1946. He was employed as a regional manager of True Temple Corp. of Union City, a division of Emhart Corp. of Farmington, CT, for 31 years. He was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ, a veteran of World War II, member and past master of Crawford Lodge 234, F and AM Lodge of Meadville, Scottish Rite Bodies of Erie, Zem Zem Shrine Temple of Erie, Crawford County Shrine Club, Kismet Grotto of Meadville, Fraternity Order of Eagles of Meadville, Meadville Sportman's Club and club treasurer for 23 years, Hayfield Center Hose Co. and the National Rifle Assn.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Mrs. James (Diane) Crawford of Meadville and Mrs. George (Leigh Ann) Herzberger, III of Cochranton; two sons, Gary R. Smock of Meadville and Lary L. Smock of Meadville; one brother, Ralph A. Smock of Meadville and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Nancy; two sisters, Evelyn and Eleanor and one brother, Frank.
Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.
Interment was in Greendale Cemetery.
