Robert Lloyd Cowles

Robert Lloyd Cowles, 85, of Meadville, died Wednesday, March 29, 2017 at Meadville Medical Center.
He was born December 29, 1931 in Warren, PA, a son of Lloyd H. and Jennie Bell Knapp Cowles. He married Betty J. Walker September 30, 1955 and she preceded him in death January 11, 2015.
Bob was a Veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving from 1950 to 1954. He was employed by the city of Meadville as an equipment operator for 20 years, retiring in 1996. He previously worked at the former GTI in Hadley and at Talon in Meadville.
He was a former member of Calvary Baptist Church.
Survivors include two sisters, Merna Valone of Russell, PA and Carolyn Hamilton of South Carolina; a brother, Allen Van Ord of Russell, PA; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a brother, James Cowles.
A graveside service will be Monday, April 3rd at 11:00 a.m. in Foster Cemetery, Lander, PA.
