Robert Louis Engels, Sr., 68, of Conneaut Lake, died Wednesday, June 10, 1987, at North Park Manor following a lengthy illness.
Mr. Engels was born in Meadville, October 3, 1918, a son of Carl J. and Ethel Sheriff Engels. He married Thelma Lou Crable June 22, 1940. She survives.
He retired in 1970 as a partner in the former Engels Beer Distributorship. He previously was employed as a purchasing agent for Conneaut Lake Park; as a brakeman on the former Erie Railroad Co. for several years; and as a route salesman with the former Meadville Bread Co. He was a member of Our Lady Queen of the Americas' Roman Catholic Church. He was a World War II veteran, having served in the US Army, European Theater.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include one son, Robert L. Engels, Jr. of Meadville; three sisters, Mrs. Frances Main of Phoenix, AZ, Mrs. Lucile Albaugh of Meadville and Mrs. Katheryn Boyd of Indianapolis, IN; one brother, Charles Engels of Phoenix, AZ; two grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.
Interment was in Our Lady Queen of the Americas Cemetery.
