Robert L. (Bob) Steiner

Robert L. (Bob) Steiner, 79, of Blooming Valley, passed away Monday, January 8, 2018 at Meadville Medical Center following an unexpected illness.

He was born December 22, 1938 in Meadville, a son of Thomas and Vivian Cline Steiner.  He married Susie M. Bradshaw November 5, 1960 and she preceded him in death March 27, 2016.

Bob was a 1957 graduate of Saegertown High School and was a U.S. Army Veteran serving from 1957 to 1960, stationed in Germany.  He worked as a lineman for Penelec for 32 years, retiring in 1996.  Bob was a member of West Mead 2 VFD.  He enjoyed walking Woodcock Dam, watching golf, was an avid St. Louis Cardinals baseball fan, and especially loved time spent with his grandchildren.

He was a member of Blooming Valley United Methodist Church.

Survivors include a daughter, Brenda Grinnell and her husband Mark of Bridgeport, TX; three sons, Robert C. (Stub) Steiner of Saegertown, Brian (Pete) Steiner of Blooming Valley, and Jeff Steiner and his wife Darla of Sharpsville; six grandchildren, Billy Grinnell and his wife Chelsea, Becky Grinnell, and Kaytlynn, Karleigh, Keelie, and Macie Steiner; a brother, Harold Steiner and his wife Sandy of Gainesville, FL; two sisters, Janet Cummings of Cambridge Springs and Cathy Kocis of Franklin; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Steiner.

Calling hours will be Thursday, January 11th from 5 to 8 p.m. at the ROBERT W. WAID FUNERAL HOME, 581 CHESTNUT ST., MEADVILLE and Friday, January 12th from 10 to 11 a.m. at Blooming Valley United Methodist Church, 24740 State St., Meadville.

The funeral service will be Friday at 11:00 a.m. at the church with the Rev. Joong Wook Koe, Pastor, officiating.

Interment will be in Blooming Valley Cemetery.
