Robert Luther Vanmarter

October 22, 1923 — June 10, 1947

Robert Luther VanMarter, 23, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Dazelle VanMarter of Woodcock Township, was killed in a truck crash at Santa Ana, CA, yesterday morning, according to word received by his parents last night.

The youth had been living in California for about a year, and has been employed by a trucking concern.  Prior to that he had attended Meadville High School and served in the Navy in the Pacific area for four years, serving as a third class petty officer at the time of his discharge.

He is survived by his widow, the former Maxine Elliott of California, who has been visiting at the home of her husband's parents here; his year-old daughter, Penny; his parents and two sisters, Mrs. George Norton of Meadville and Mrs. Charles Rice of Cleveland.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Greendale Cemetery.
