Romaine R. Gilbert

Mrs. Romaine R. Gilbert, 63, of Guys Mills, widow of Charles L. Gilbert, died Thursday, August 23, 1984, at Corry Memorial Hospital after an illness lasting several months.

She was born at Guys Mills, February 10, 1921, a daughter of Joe and Mildred Hall Hotchkiss.  She married Mr. Gilbert August 23, 1941, and he preceded her in death July 22, 1970.

Mrs. Gilbert was retired from her work as a clerk-typist at the Meadville Office of the Department of Public Welfare.  She had previously been employed in the Warren State Hospital Office.  She was a member of United Evangelical Free Church, Guys Mills, and of the church's ladies aid society.

Survivors include a son, Roger L. Gilbert of Spartansburg; a brother, Gordon Hotchkiss of Guys Mills; several nieces and nephews and two grandsons.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Norman.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Union Cemetery, Guys Mills.
