Ronald E. Stallard

Ronald E. Stallard, 89, of Meadville, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, May 11, 2023 at Meadville Medical Center.

He was born June 13, 1933 in Meadville, a son of Emerson C. Stallard and Anna VanVolkenburg Stallard Payne.  He married Joan Morris July 2, 1955 and she preceded him in death June 4, 2012.

Ron was a graduate of Saegertown High School and completed his engineering apprenticeship with General Electric.  He was a Veteran of the U.S. Army, serving from 1953 to 1957.  Ron retired from GTI Corporation and had also worked at General Electric and Stallard Tool Company.  He was a former member of Meadville Elks Lodge 219.  He enjoyed traveling on family vacations and baking, and especially loved his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include a daughter, Kimberly Stanford (Craig Schenberg) of Meadville; two sons, Robert Stallard (John Barnett) of Erie and Douglas Stallard of Meadville; two grandchildren, Jennifer Furtwangler (Ryan) of Palm City, FL and Zachary Stanford (Vanessa) of Meadville; four great-grandchildren, Avery, Kalli, Paisley, and Damian; and several brothers, sisters and other family members.

He was proceeded in death by his parents; wife; and five brothers.

Calling hours will be Thursday, May 18th from 4-7 p.m. at the ROBERT W. WAID FUNERAL HOME, 581 CHESTNUT ST., MEADVILLE.

The funeral service will be Friday, May 19th at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.

Interment will be in Greendale Cemetery with military honors provided by VFW Post 2006.
