Ronald E. (Ronnie) Watkins, 69, of Conneaut Lake went to be with his Lord and Savior on his birthday, May 13, 2013 at the Marquette Hospice House. He was born in Meadville a son of Merle R. and Bessie K. Adams Watkins. He married Sandra (Sandi) Saul September 16, 1995 at Watson Run Church of God and she survives. He worked for many years in steel fabrication and retired as a foreman at Excalibur Machine Co. He was a graduate of Meadville High School and was a member of Watson Run Church of God. He was an avid bowler, being inducted into the Crawford County Bowling Hall of Fame in 1994. He lived to hunt deer and enjoyed fishing, golfing, downhill skiing and maintaining and landscaping his property and house which he built. He was a passionate Steeler fan enjoying watching the games with his cat, Fluffy. He will be deeply missed by his family and especially his grandchildren. Survivors, in addition to his wife Sandi, include: two sons, Brian Watkins and his wife Jennifer of Clinton, OH and Dennis Watkins and his girlfriend, Laura Feil of Pittsburgh; four grandchildren, Andrew, Cassandra, Corey and Dylan Watkins; two brothers, Richard Watkins of Meadville and Raymond Watkins of Conneaut Lake; two sisters, Marie Holcombe of Meadville and Anna Mae Rossi of Meadville and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Glenn Watkins, John Watkins, Robert Watkins and Merle Watkins and a sister, Laura Richmond. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Waid-Coleman Funeral Home, Inc., 12422 Conneaut Lake Road, Conneaut Lake. The funeral service will be Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at Watson Run Church of God, 9985 S. Watson Run Road, Meadville with Pastor Ken Hough, officiating. Interment will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to the Marquette Hospice House (for a memorial project in Ronnies name), c/o Hospice of Crawford County, 464 Pine Street, Meadville, PA 16335.
