Ronald L. Burchard, 73, of Conneaut Lake, died Friday, February 16, 2001 at his residence following a period of declining health.
He was born November 8, 1927 in Conneaut Lake, a son of the late Ronald E. and Velma A. Bossard Burchfield. He married Marlene J. Kline April 6, 1957 and she survives.
He was a self-employed milk hauler and lifetime dairy farmer. He was a former member of Conneaut School Board, delegate of Milk Marketing, Inc., delegate of the PA Farmers Assn., and recipient of the PA Dairy of Distinction Award. He was a hard working man who enjoyed life and especially loved hunting and spending time with his family.
He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, former usher and member of the Pastor/Parish and Finance committees.
Survivors, in addition to his wife of 43 years, include a son, Don A. Burchfield (Jill) of Conneaut Lake; a daughter, Darlene K. Malec (John) of Conneaut Lake; two grandchildren, Adam L. Burchfield and Alysha L. Malec; a sister, Eleanor M. Ballut of Conneaut Lake and a brother, Donald C. Burchfield (Virginia) of Conneaut Lake.
He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Ashley Malec and a sister, Evelyn Burchfield.
Services were held with the Waid-Coleman Funeral Home.
Interment was in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
