Ronald L. Schell, 72 of Utica, passed away on August 23, 2024 at home with his family by his side. Ron was born in Grove City on July 10, 1952 to the late Clarence "Bill" Schell and Esther (Burk) Schell. Ron was known for his strong work ethic, beginning working on his grandparents farm on Donation Hill road at a very young age. He was a welder by trade claiming there were only two things he couldnt weld "the crack of dawn and the crack of your a**". He then owned and operated Schells Garage in Utica for over 20 years. After the garage he worked for Sevensons Environmental Services, retiring in 2022. Ron was very community minded willing to help anyone and give them the shirt off his back. He was a lifetime member of Utica Volunteer Fire Department serving as a Firefighter and EMT for several years. In his spare time, he loved spending time outdoors, birdwatching, hunting, and fishing. He was known for his $2 tours around the back roads of the area. Most importantly Ron loved his family, spending time with his daughters and watching his grandkids, and attending their many sporting events. Left to cherish Rons memory are his daughters: Stephanie (Phil) Knapp of Titusville; Stacie (Evan) Staup of Utica; and Shannon (Oz) Osborn of Utica, grandchildren: Garrett, Coleman, and Dalton Knapp, Kinley and Shay Staup, and Ryan and Avery Osborn, mother of his daughters: MaryAnn Schell, as well as numerous dear friends. In addition to his parents, Bill and Esther, Ron was preceded in death by his brother: William L. Schell, SP4 KIA Vietnam, Jill McClearn, as well as many dear friends.
