Ronald P. States, 80, of Meadville, died Monday, September 12, 1994, at home following a nine month illness.
He was born August 19, 1914, in Rochester Mills, PA, a son of I. Paul and Effie Miller States. He married Clara (Peg) Hoffman, June 21, 1937. She survives.
He worked at Talon for forty years, retiring in 1979 from the maintenance department. He had also worked at one time in Talon's chain machine department. In his retirement, he devoted more time to his hobbies of gardening and fishing. He was a member of Stone United Methodist Church and was a long-time usher. He also was a Red-Coat at Meadville Medical Center.
Survivors, in addition to his wife include four daughters, Patricia Blair of Pittsburgh, Nancy Nyilyk of Meadville, Mrs. William (Gloria) Richards of Reedsville, PA and Mrs. Bernard (Rhonda) Higby of Pittsburgh; four sisters, Mildred Stamp of Hubbard, OH, Ella Pollack of Rochester Mills, PA, Louise Lewis of Niagara Falls, NY and Ethel Bennett of Allegany, NY; four brothers, David Max Galentine of Meadville, Dale States of Denver, CO, Charles States of Burghill, OH and James McMillan of Flinton, PA and nine grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Harold Galentine.
Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.
Interment was in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
