Rosaland L. Fisher

Rosalind L. Fisher, 92, of Mt. Pleasant, SC and formerly of Meadville, died Wednesday, March 2, 2005 at Sand Piper Nursing Home, Mt. Pleasant, SC.

She was born in Jeffersonville, IN January 31, 1913, a daughter of the late Franklin E. and Clara Stingel Lahr.  She married Hubert B. Fisher August 12, 1938 and he preceded her in death January 28, 1993.

She was a 1936 graduate of Ohio State University and subsequently received a Masters Degree from Edinboro University.  She worked as cafeteria manager at the Crawford County Vocational Technical School for several years, retiring in 1980.  She was a member of Christian Embassy International, Charleston, SC and a former member of Stone United Methodist Church.

She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, PA State Education Association, Meadville Elks Lodge #219 Auxiliary, and the Meadville Business and Professional Women.

Survivors include two sons, Richard H. Fisher and his wife Lorrie of Franklin and Douglas E. Fisher and his wife Sally of Mt. Pleasant, SC; a daughter, Patricia A. Fisher of Albany, NY; a sister, Catherine Shafer of Worthington, OH; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a brother-in-law, Leonard Gammel of Aurora, OH; four nieces; and three nephews.  In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Harold and Edward Lahr.

Calling hours will be Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, 581 Chestnut St., Meadville.

A funeral service will be Monday at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Cathy Newport, Pastor of Stone United Methodist Church officiating.

Entombment will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
