Rose A. Brown

April 9, 1882 — September 27, 1972

Mrs. Rose A. Brown, of Meadville, died Wednesday, September 27, 1972 at the Mead Nursing Home after an extended illness.

She was born in French Creek Township, Mercer County, a daughter of Joseph and Nancy Hammel Swogger.  She married Burton Brown who died in 1941.  In her younger years, Mrs. Brown was an employee at the Kepler Hotel, and later was a photographic saleswoman with Goldtone Studios in Meadville.  She attended Stone United Methodist Church.

Survivors include a brother, Wilkin Swogger of Milledgeville; three grandchildren, Mrs. Richard (Pauline) Knoblow of Meadville, Richard A. Brown of West Milton and Robert J. Brown of Milwaukee; four great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
