Rouene B. Smith

Mrs. Rouene B. Smith, 66, wife of Ray T. Smith, of Meadville, died Sunday, May 17, 1981,at Mead Nursing Home where she had been a resident for one month.  She had been ill for two months.

She was born at Deckards Run, Wayne Township, June 29, 1914, a daughter of Lee and Lela Britton Graham.  She married Smith June 29, 1947.

She retired after teaching for 36 years, most of that time in special education for Crawford Central School District.

She was a member of Meadville Christian and Missionary Alliance Church.  She also was a member of Meadville Daughters of American Revolution, Daughters of Union Veterans, Women's Christian Temperance Union and PA and Crawford County Retired Public School Employees Assn.

Survivors, in addition to her husband, include a daughter, Miss Theo Smith at home, and several cousins.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Cochranton Cemetery.
