Russell F. Kurtz

Russell F. Kurtz, 76, of Meadville, died Friday, June 9, 1989, at Hamot Medical Center, Erie, following a brief illness.

Mr. Kurtz was born in Milledgeville, IL, October 27, 1912, a son of Robert H. and Sarah Miller Kurtz.  He married Mildred F. Sperry September 28, 1935.  She preceded him in death September 2, 1987.

He retired in 1987 from Leech Tool and Die Co. as a machinist after 22 years of service.  He previously was employed for 20 years as an auto mechanic in the Meadville area by several firms.  He was a member of First Baptist Church and the church's MCR Sunday School class.  He was a member of the Crawford County Deputy Sheriffs Department and the Fraternal Order of Police.

Survivors include two sons, Wayne A. Kurtz of Saegertown and Stanley R. Kurtz of Meadville and five grandchildren.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
